Burst pipes and leaking tap repairs in the Hills District and Greater Sydney

Leaking tap repairs

Leaks can appear in numerous places around your home! Whether you need a dripping tap repair, a replacement rubber seal, or your pipe joints tightened, our local plumbers are experienced and ready to help!

When a leaking pipe is left undiscovered and unrepaired, it can not only lead to expensive water bills but also extreme water damage within cabinets, behind the frame of your walls and even into your floor. This puts the structural integrity of your home at risk.

Our plumbers are equipped to carry out tests that will locate leaks within your home. We also offer device installation including pressure limiting valves, which are used as a precautionary measure to help to minimise the chance of getting a leak in the future.

“I would highly recommend Matt. He did an amazing job of our bathroom. Helping me with the whole process, from tapware to fixing an old toilet. He was punctual and communicated the way through. He also cleaned after finishing the job. I will be recommending him to friends and family and using him for future plumbing jobs. ”

Katie A, North Bondi.

 Did you know?

  1. A slowly dripping tap may seem like a small issue but it can waste 9,000 litres of water a year!

Similarly, a visibly leaking toilet can waste more than 60,000 litres, and you’ll see these figures on your water bill. If you need a leaking tap repair, we’ll be able to resolve the issue in a timely and tidy manner.

  2. According to Australian insurance companies, over 20% of all household claims relating to flood damage were a direct result of failed flexible hoses!

Based on this figure alone, we strongly encourage everyone to check their bathrooms, kitchens and laundries to see if their flexible hoses have signs of fraying or rust spots. As a general rule, they should be replaced every 5-7 years. Swish Plumbing is happy to inspect the condition of your flexible hoses and provide you with a free report while we are on-site for another booked job.

  3. If the water pressure in your home is over 500KPA extreme stress can be put on your plumbing system, increasing your chance of leaking or burst pipes.

It'll also void the manufacturer's warranty on your tapware and appliances. Swish plumbing can install pressure limiting valves to control the water pressure coming into your home and regulate spikes in pressure from the mains.

  4. If you suspect you may have a leak or burst water pipe in your home, you should start by checking for any dampness, signs of watermarks and listening for any hissing sounds in your home. You can also take a look at your water meter!

To do this, note down the usage number while all your appliances and fixtures are switched off. If the meter is still ticking over then you definitely have a leak. If not, don't be so sure just yet, check again in 15 minutes and see if the water meter has changed. If you’re still unsure, Swish plumbing can come and help you investigate. In an instance where you do have a leak, we’ll find the source and repair it quickly and efficiently.
